Of course you can join! Regardless of what year you are in, whether it is a first year, second year, third year / third year transfer, fourth year, or even fifth year, you can still join the club. Requirements can easily be finished within a year. You can earn your cord to wear in your graduation ceremony during the same academic year in which you graduate.
You need to complete a minimum of 40 points and 4 hours of fundraising. More information about the point system, events, and fundraisers are given below and on our Membership page.
Be aware that raising your GPA to a 3.0 may be difficult if it is currently below a 3.0, and that a 3.0 cumulative GPA for at least two consecutive quarters is required. If you are close enough to the GPA requirement and you have approximately another year left before graduation, we can help you! By becoming a member of Chi Alpha Epsilon, you will be provided with mentorship, personal academic help, workshops, and various other resources to help earn your 3.0 GPA. We want you to become an inducted member. Talk to a board member so we can get started.
The membership requirements listed are the total requirements for the entire time before the points are due. This means that you have all of Fall Quarter and all of Winter Quarter to achieve all those points.
Off-campus events are longer events that require more effort, including tutoring, charity walks, and volunteering. Typically, there will be one per quarter, which will give approximately 8 hours.
The meetings are our general meetings. Workshops may be some of the workshops that SSS hosts, or they may also be workshops that our own board members host.
Study sessions are events that our board members host on-campus - typically at CSL (Courtyard Study Lounge). Some study sessions may be hosted at one of the libraries, or even in a classroom. These study sessions should usually range from one hour to three hours. Board members will have study sessions at different times, so hopefully you can find some that suit your schedule.
Socials and on-campus events can include eating at UTC (you can easily get credit towards the hour requirement and fundraising requirement by attending our UTC fundraisers). Other events can include working out at the ARC with some board members or attending any other events that board members host.
Our fundraisers are on Ring Road during a weekday from approximately 11:00AM to 2:00PM, though members can also help set up or clean up before or after the fundraiser. The amount of fundraisers may vary per quarter. Once or twice a quarter, we will also have a fundraiser at UTC, in which we collaborate with one of the restaurants to receive a percentage of their profits from flyers.

No, they do not. What matters the most is ultimately how many hours you are able to achieve.
Sometime during the Spring quarter, if we determine that you have met the membership requirements, you will be inducted into Chi Alpha Epsilon at our annual induction ceremony. You will receive a pin, certificate, and a tassel to wear for graduation.
To be officially inducted as a member of Chi Alpha Epsilon, you must:

Our mentorship program helps members receive advice from board members or other mentors. Mentors may have more than one mentee, depending on the number of mentees pursuing the same major / career path. Advice that a mentor may give a mentee can include - but is not limited to - the types of classes to take, a general academic plan, studying tips, suggestions for other extracurricular activities, and advice for how to reach your chosen career path. More details will come soon.
Those who are either third years or fourth years may apply to become a mentor for fellow club members. More details on how to apply will be available soon.
Anyone can sign up to be a mentee for the mentorship program. Sign-ups for those who are interested will be available soon.
